Thanks! re "get out of the house and find a library or cafe which I can associate just with writing" - great idea. Replicating the whole thing about "going to work".

Be kind to yourself. You have been so brave in sharing this with us. You have been through a terrible time and it will take time to heal. No wonder you are exhausted. Xxxx

Very well, my lovely, but so hoping you are ok and will be kind to yourself. Don’t forget yourself, it’s ok to wallow sometimes to heal xxxx

Good luck with the new project. It sounds like you’ve had a rough time of it recently - hopefully a chance to play and be creative will help a little

Thanks, Naomi. Playing with words is my favourite thing. Trouble is my brain won't shut the words down - which actually is the subject of the novel I'm writing!

Keep going, Nicola. Any book written by you will be brilliant, and I am so glad to hear that you are working on another fiction book.

The last few years have been difficult for many, and you have had far more to cope with than most...it's exhausting! Be kind to yourself - you're worth it.

That is SO kind of you. I hesitated before sharing as I am so aware of how lucky I am and how many things I have NOT had to deal with. But I think every now and then a bit of a wallow is no bad thing! As long as we kick ourselves out of it - a well-placed kick is something I'm happy to self-administer!

Every strength to you! On the writing side, many will relate to your experiences, I know I do. It was a relief to me to stop second-guessing "the market", and write what I really wanted. To add to your brilliant list, I find it's really helpful to get out of the house and find a library or cafe which I can associate just with writing.

I somehow ended up spending a third of my time in a war zone and switched to writing poetry as a result. I got my first magazine acceptance a few weeks ago... Poetry makes zero money for most and has almost zero readers but given the subject matter it feels important. And I am certainly motivated.

Interesting. Important, meaningful and *possible* (?), whereas I cannot imagine it being possible to write something longer when focus and emotions are so fractured. Take care.

Yeah. I'm sure a novel will make itself known at some point, but not while I'm still dodging missiles. Good luck with your renewed focus.
