I am not a native English speaker, and I randomly picked this book by its title to improve my English skills. Even though I work at a library, I have never completed a book before. Surprisingly, I fell in love with Nicola’s writing style and finished reading Positively Teenage. Here I am, writing a comment, and I am very proud of myself for doing this.

PS- I couldn’t locate the Readaxation diary.

Thank you so much for this comment! (Apologies for delay - I was away on business and had limited time and internet access.) The readaxation diary - please could you point me towards where you found it mentioned so that I can see if a link is broken? I don't think there's a link in my substack post so you must have found it by a different route. Can you let me know and then I can investigate? Thanks! (Meanwhile I will add a link into the article anyway.)

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my comment. The link you mentioned in your book—your website, www.nicolamorgan.com—leads to an error when I click the ‘Reading Brain’ option. It says the page can’t be found.

Ah, yes - that's the problem with links in books: when a website undergoes changes, some links may change. If you click the link in the post above or copy and paste this one - https://nicolamorgan.com/extras/ - you will see "reading brain" when you scroll down. (It's under "Research topics" on the main navigation bar on my website home page.)

Love this Nicola! I was a librarian and think the term 'readaxation' is brilliant. Choosing the right book is key as you say, so having lots of choice is important. I've always let my children read what they want (age appropriate obviously), even if I'm not keen on it myself as it has to be their choice. I will try the holiday reading pledge as I absolutely love to read but find I have little time for it.

I find it hard to find time, too. I only ever read before bed and on holiday. Fortunately, I have three days holiday coming up and a swollen knee means I won't be doing as much walking as usual!
